The college was established in 1980 as a result of relentless endeavors and liberal financial contributions of some eminent citizens of Raniganj, dedicated to the cause of spreading education especially among women. At the time of inception the college carried out its academic enterprise at the campus of Gandhi Memorial Girls’ High School and later moved for a short period to the premises of Jamunamoyee Girls’ High School. Finally it moved to its present campus at Searsole, Raniganj. Since then it has grown up into an educational institution of considerable repute with an enormous student enrolment to the tune of 1200 at the undergraduate level., I am happy to share a few words with you about own institution "Raniganj Girls' College". Raniganj Girls' College was established on 9th November 1980 on 6.258 acres of land donated by the Raja of Searsole, Raniganj, to meet the growing need of the college meant exclusively for the girls of the colliery belt keeping in mind the cosmopolitan demography of the region., At the time of inception the college carried out its academic enterprise at the campus of Gandhi memorial Girls' High School and later moved for a short period to the premises of Jamunamoyee Girls' High School. Finally, in may 1983, it moved to its present campus at Searsole., Our Vission & Mission, We are relentlessly trying to meet the challenges of imparting better, updated and socially relevant education as demanded by the new age of globalization. Now we are offering honours courses in twelve subjects and a few more will be added soon. The college administration is continuously engaged in developing the infrastructural facilities for creating an academic ambience conducive to quality teaching. Incidentally, we are proud to say that at the moment, we are carrying out academic activities at the college with a strong faculty of 21 permanent teachers and a few more new teaching posts have been created which will be filled up at the earliest. Moreover, to guarantee the best standard of education we have decided to have our infrastructure, performance and potential assessed by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Our vision is to transform this college into a pioneering educational institute of the region in the years to come.
