About Institute of Finance Management, Lucknow

The Univesity of Luckow has a long and eventful history. Its origin can be traced back to a modest school founded about one hundred twenty years ago. The University owes its inception to the generosity of the Taluqdars of Awadh and the keen enthusiasm of Sir Harcourt Butler, who laid the foundation stone of the Lucknow University on March 18, 1921. The Lucknow University started its career with the Canning College, the King George's Medical College and Isabella Thoburn College and the Facilities of Medicine, Arts, Oriental Studies, Science, Law and Commerce. Later on, its growth and development has brought about a remarkable transformation in the academic life of the people. Many new faculties have been added, viz., Education, Dental, Ayurveda, Fine Arts, Architecture and Engineering. The university has also started more than 40 professional/ vocational courses. At present, it has a galaxy of luminaries on its faculty who have made outstanding contributions to knowledge.IFM is a pioneering Institute in the field of modern management education. It is the focal point for providing the input for efficient and pragmatic approach to problem solving for improvement in the different fields of business.

In order to respond effectively to societal needs and to help improve the management of corporate and non-corporate sectors and public systems, the Institute is running the following professional programmes:

Master of Finance and Control (MFC) A Two-year,four-semester,full-time programme

Master of Corporate Management (MCM) A Two-year,four-semester,full-time programme

Master of Management Science (MMS) A Two-year,four-semester,full-time programme

Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Markets & Portfolio Management (PGDFMPM) A year,Two-semester,full-time programme

Bachelor of Management Science (BMS) A three-year, six-semester, full-time programme

The student's body of IFM is meticulously selected (through a 3-iter inference test at all India level) and carefully nurtured in an atmosphere that is creative, harmonizing and yet challenging.

Library

The Institute has a well-stocked library of its own. The Library comparisons of an extensive collection of 15000 books on Accounting, Finance, Personnel, Production and General Management etc. The library subscribes a number of reputed international and Indian journals and periodicals. Besides, Institute's students have easy access to the University's central library, viz. Tagore Library also which is one of the biggest libraries of the country.

Laboratory

IFM students have elaborate arrangements for using computer facility at Central Computer Center of the University. A mega size networking having thirty Terminals is freely available along with a number of PCs working independently. Besides it, the institute has created its own Computer Labs, which have latest hardware on LAN and UNIX systems, latest licensed software and qualified staff.

Hostel Accomodation

The Institute has built its own Girls Hostel at Old Campus of the University. Besides this, the students also get accommodation in other Hostel of the University.
