was established in 1962. Academic performance of the department remained brilliant since the date of establishment with organization of workshop, Visheshwar pd. Memorial lectures,seminars & publication of departmental journal.The Session of Indian History congress was organised in.Teachers of the faculty members paricipated in seminars,symposiums and other academic conferences contributed their articles; students participated in sports, cultural activities & debates and contributed medals to the department
