Muthayammal College of Arts & Science was established in the year 1994. It is affiliated to Periyar University, Salem. It not only caters to the need of Rasipuram and neighbouring areas but also draws a good number of students from the neighbouring states of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka. It is surprising to note that a couple of students from distant northern states like Jammu and Kashmir, West-Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chandikar, Manipur, Delhi and Union territory of Andaman and Nicobar islands, Uttaranjal, Orissa, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, have joined this institution which is situated in a clam, rural area in the interior part of Tamil Nadu. And also a few students from Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal & Kenya have joined this institution.
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all to the eminent Muthayammal College of Arts and Science which was established in 1994.The college has been rendering service to the rural community for 23years. The college has been accredited with NAAC “A” Grade. It enjoys 2 (F) & 12(B) status. College is ranked 86th among the colleges all over India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). It stands at the 6th rank among the Self-Financing colleges in Tamil Nadu.
A placement cell has been actively functioning in the college. It organizes interviews on and off the campus to facilitate the students placed at reputed concerns like HCL,WIPRO,CTS,TATA,etc., An English communication laboratory offers ample training opportunities to improve the communication skills of the students. The institution has an “ANIMAL HOUSE and GREEN HOUSE” to meet the requirements of the researchers. It draws a special mention that an ethical clearance from the Ministry of Forests and Environment has been obtained for the Animal House. There is a Value Added Centre at the college that offers courses best suited to the heterogeneous variety of students to widen their employment opportunities.

Demonstration Lab: Demonstration Lab is well equipped with the latest configuration of systems and instruments. This lab helps the students enhance their knowledge about various methodology, lastest trends and technologies. Demonstration providing through LCD and OHP projector.
Practical Lab: Laboratores are equipped with modern computing facilities and are accessible to students from morning to late evening. All training programmes are conducted in labs with higher end computers. There are fully air-conditioned laboratiores, equipped with work stations that are conntected to the Internet.
