      About SRM Engineering College

      Sri Ramaswamy Memorial Engineering College (SRMEC) is a private Engineering Institution, commissioned in the year 1985, with the approval of the Government of Tamil Nadu. All the courses offered by the college are affiliated to the University of Madras and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi.

      ABOUT THE COLLEGE

      The College is situated along the Grand Southern Trunk (NH 45) at 40 Kms distance south of Chennai city in Tambaram-Chengelpet stretch. The College campus has a sprawling area of around 48 hectares, with serene atmosphere, sylvan settings and environs, conducive for academic activities. The college is well connected by rail and road links because of its ideal location.

      This Institution is run by Valliammai Society, which has a network of several educational institutions such as SRM Nightingale Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chennai, Valliammai Polytechnic, Kattankulathur, SRM Polytechnic, Kattankulathur, SRM College of Pharmacy, Kattankulathur, SRM Arts and Science College, Chennai, SRM Institute of Hotel Management, Kattankulathur, SRM College of Nursing, SRM College of Physiotherapy, Eswari Engineering COllege, SRM Dental College & SRM College of Occupational Therapy at Chennai.The Trust has plans to start many more educational institutions.

      The College campus consists of eight blocks with a, built up area of around 19,500 sqm for housing lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, library, administration & Seminar halls.

      The College has extensive playgrounds, athletic fields, and recreation rooms to provide good facilities for indoor and outdoor games and sprots for the students.
