Located in Mar Ephraem College of Engineering and Technology (MECET) is one of the higher educational ventures of Malankara Catholic Church (MCC) which spreads its wings in Kerala and Tamilnadu. It is a newly born college, established and administered by the Catholic Diocese of Marthandam along with its sister institution, Malankara Catholic College (Arts and Science). MCC has a noble vision to make quality and value based higher education accessible even to the students of remote areas., It was the dream of our First Bishop of Marthandam Most Rev. Lawrence Mar Ephraem, to provide higher educational opportunities to our young Men and Women. In order to fulfill the dream, present Bishop Most Rev. Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom founded and established “MAR EPHRAEM COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY” at Malankara Hills, Elavuvilai which is 4.5 k.m. away from Marthandam. The indefatigable and daring efforts of the people of Marthandam Diocese and Rev. Fr. Prem Kumar M.S.W. (Secretary & Correspondent) and his team are behind the present shape of the college. MECET is affiliated to Anna University Thirunelveli. MECET provides high end courses in engineering disciplines and offers state-of -the-art platform and infrastructure to its students., It was the dream of the first Bishop of Marthandam His Grace Most Rev. Lawrence Mar Ephraem, to establish and provide a tertiary education for students who have completed Secondary education. Consequently the Mar Ephraem College of Engineering and Technology was established in 2009 at Elavuvilai,Marthandam., The aim of Mar Ephraem College of Engineering and Technology has always been to provide a quality education that keeps abreast of emerging technologies and progress., Fulfilling the prolonged wish of the great visionary, His Grace Most Rev. Lawrence Mar Ephraem, the first bishop of Malankara diocese of Marthandam, our prestigious institution came in to existence on 26th August 2009 with an intake of 169 students by offering 4 programmes in B.E. The college is administered by Diocese of Marthandam under Diocese of Marthandam Trust headed by His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Vincent Mar Paulos and is functioning with a total strength of 1514 students & 151 faculty members, offering 5 B.E. Programmes , 3 M.E. Programmes & a Doctorate Programme in CSE., Maintaining a pastoral green concept, we have aesthetically designed buildings in 4 blocks namely the Mar Gregorios Block, the Mar Baselios Block, the Administrative Block & the Library., As a NAAC accredited institution with B+ grade, Mar Ephraem College of Engineering & Technology imparts an effective outcome based learning experience to its stake holders in a vivid & well defined manner., Apart from being the Nodal Centre of Anna University, the institution is enriched with various national & international MOUs.
