It is housed in a beautiful building comprising an Administrative wing, Science block, Arts block, Commerce Block, Computer Science and Information Technology Block, Girls' Wing, Advanced Computer Labs, Digital English language Lab, Home Science Lab and Fashion Designing Lab, Air Conditioned Auditorium, large grounds and a well-furnished computerized library., The institution came into existence in the year 1965 as a co-educational institution imparting education up to under-graduate level in Science as well as Arts faculty. Before the inception of this college, there was no institution of higher education in this area and the practice of distance education and correspondence courses was also not much in vogue. With deficient and underdeveloped means of communication, the youth of this area particularly the girls had to do without education. With the establishment of this institution, higher education became accessible and affordable to the youth of this area. At present the college is imparting education in M.A. Punjabi & History, M.Sc. Mathematics and PGDCA at the post graduate level and B.A. in Arts, Computer Science and Information Technology, B.Sc. in Non-Medical and Computer Science, B.C.A. and B.Com. at the undergraduate level., The college has earnestly endeavored to provide equal opportunities of education to all, without any gender bias and irrespective of the caste, colour, & creed. The girls and the poor students of the depressed classes are given special incentives in the form of fee concession, scholarships, books from Book Bank etc. The college provides transport facility to the girl students at highly subsidized rates., The land on which the college is situated and its surroundings have a special historical significance. This area was trodden by the Tenth Master of Sikhism, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, while going from Chamkaur Sahib to Machhiwara. In order to thank the Almighty for his countless blessings the Management, Staff and Students celebrate every year, with dedication and devotion, the ParkashUtsav of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji., The magnificent campus of the college with its well stacked library, well equipped laboratories, impressive stadium, Gymnasium, Out-Door Students' Centre, separate Girls' Wing, Air conditioned auditorium, Career Guidance Centre and Centre for Equal Opportunities has been built brick by brick over the years due to the grace of the Almighty., Since last five years a new Managing Committee headed by SardarBalbir Singh Rajewal has taken over the governance of the college. He and his team of committed, dedicated and sincere persons are working very hard to take the institution forward on the path to glory and success., Today the college enjoys an enviable position in curricular and co-curricular activities and sports.
