Today, S.B.P. Mahavidyalaya stands as an index of the sincerity and devotion of the local people and shall ever remain an emblem of sacrifice of a considerable dimension, exemplifying the inherent merit of those who think in terms of the well being of society. May this institution be a perennial fountain of knowledge and inspiration to one and all.

The entire College ground including the proposedsite for staff quarters measuring about 4 acres was largely donated by the villagers of Samantiapalli, rich and poor alike. The yeomen’s service rendered by each of them and the generous public contribution have enabled the College to achieve its present stature. The College gratefully acknowledges the service rendered by the Governing Body, Principals, Teaching and NonTeaching Staff who jointly steered the Institution to safety in its times of storm and stress. When scarcity at every front stared the face, they cared little for their own subsistence and laboured hard for the survival and growth of the College.

In the year 1981, the Berhampur University granted affiliation to the College for Intermediate Arts with 80 seats. The next year I.Com. was opened with the affiliation of 32 seats. With the introduction of 10+2+3 pattern of education, the College was asked to impart teaching at the Higher Secondary stage. Accordingly +2 Arts (with 128 seats) and +2 Commerce (with 32 seats) was started from the academic session 1983-84 under affiliation from the CHSE, Odisha.
