Sanjay Memorial Institute of Technology (SMIT) is the first private unaided Technical / Professional Institute in Orissa established in the year 1980 by Late Brundaban Nayak, Ex- Minister of Govt.of Orissa the founder of the institution and Registered under Society Registration Act 1960, vide No. GJM-6-6- of 1980-81.In the year 1980, our late founder Brundaban Nayak has initially started A.M.I.E and Diploma courses and constructed infrastructure facilities like Building, Hostel, Play ground etc. On existing 17.090 acres of land in single patch at village Ankushpur under Kukudakhandi Block in the District of Ganjam and he was the first president of this institution.
