In present era, the fields of Information and Communication Technology, Mass Media has developed in various aspects. Corporate and Market Industry increased vastly. So there is need of well educated and well skilled Human resources. Considering all these facts North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon runs the department of Mass Communication and Journalism. This is full-fledged regular Department of the University. The Department has introduced Two year post graduate course M.A. in Mass Communication and journalism from academic year 2006-07. Since 2010-11 Course converted into semester Pattern .Well equipped and experienced faculties are the backbone of the department. Academic ratio of the Department is going high. Yearly Result of the Students is also graceful. Department has always given it’s best to the student on theoretical as well as practical form. The Department published a Periodical namely ‘UMAVI VARTA’ from the year 2008. The students of the Department fully contributed/participated in this.

In addition the Department concentrated not only on curricular syllabus but also on social, cultural, extracurricular activities of the students. The Department always tries to give deep knowledge to the students. For this Department .has organized seminars, Workshops and speeches of major Media Persons. One of the major activity of the Department is Study tour. It has been arranged with focusing the student’s practical knowledge. It expects that to learn new trends in print and electronic Media as well as new techniques, production and status of Marketing. Department has also arranged interview of prominent and famous personalities. Department Motivates the students to participate in Debate competition, drama competition, research, sports etc. In a very short time, the Department has introduced itself differently.
