    The course called IT basically deals with handling information of the computer system i.e. the information coding, processing and storage. In today’s business world, the strategies and directions of the IT department form the basis for the overall corporate strategy. Information Technology is also a four-year degree course, similar to that of the Computer Engineering program.

    Scope and Future Prospect:
    In the information society, computers and the Internet are playing a dominant role in the formative stage. The industrial scene has been witnessing drastic changes on a far wider scale known to mankind due to the application of IT. IT related technologies are networking the companies around the globe and tying the employees into well-knit entities. This will mean keener competition backed up by instant data access, quick decision making, and communicating decisions to the concerned instantaneously In the IT export services segment, jobs will be in technical support services, system integration, programming, consultancy services (providing on site services), etc. They may have to support customers from all over the world. IT related technologies are also impacting the way content is delivered to customers. Also, gradually, customers will have the option of delivery of content of newspapers, books, music, movies, and so on, directly via the Internet and other advanced means. How we live up to the changes and challenges of a global economy will determine the job opportunities that will be created.

    The Government has declared IT as a thrust sector and computer training center will be set up in each divisional and district headquarters. There are efforts now in several areas including e-commerce, e-governance, computer networking, Internet, web browsing, web applications, multimedia product development etc., in the information technology sector. Some active steps and initiatives are already there, providing an exposure of the present and future prospects of IT. Well-trained IT professionals can start their business like Web development, multimedia, ISP and medical data transcription services, cyber-cafe and IT training centers. Several initiatives have been taken by the government to develop our IT sector. Steps have been taken for quick implementation of the recommendations of a high powered committee for software export. Some private organizations have already started to work for setting up IT Park and IT villages in the country. Some investors are foreigners and they are very much interested to build students as IT professionals. There is a lot of scope for working and entering into the international market. The IT professionals have a good demand in international IT job market

    This department was established in 2008, to coincide with the boom that reverberated in the country and that was mainly instrumental in putting India on the road to faster development and progress. The department has always worked to upgrade the available knowledge base by inviting people from the industry. Also the department has upgraded its infrastructure to meet the requirements of the course. The internal marks of the students are based on the practical and live project work.Department invites professionals from major IT research organizations and IT majors to deliver lectures and these are well received by the student community. The department also believes in encouraging the faculty to improve and update their knowledge and skill by acquiring further education, especially the junior faculty.

    Students of MBA named Atul Bansod, Rahul Akote, Chakradhar Nigot, Leena Gaikwad and Alka Kaithwas are actively involved in the cultural activity of the college. A garba night was organized in the month of September where all the students of WCEM thoroughly enjoyed the event. A D.J. was invited and a pendal was erected in the premises of the college. Principal and management also appreciated the efforts of the students. College gathering Accumen 2010 was held where activities like fashion show, orchestra and sports were held, Ram Mendhe proved to be a real gem whereas singing was concerned. An intercollegiate dance competition was held in one of the college where three students from MBA bagged first prize. Students also took part in the personality development programs. Mr. Sanatan Shende, one of the leading counselors is engaged for this purpose. He visits the college on every Monday and Wednesday and enriches the students with his psychotherapies.
