Future Scope : Mechanical Engineering is an engineering discipline which involves the application of principles of Physics for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines. It requires a solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, energy and manufacturing. Mechanical engineers use the core principles as well as other knowledge in the field to design and analyze motor vehicles, aircraft, heating and cooling systems, watercraft, manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, robotics, medical devices, etc.

The work of a Mechanical Engineer can be extremely challenging and fulfilling, requiring IT, design and analytical skills together with an ability to work as a team. As their work involves production, transmission and use of mechanical power and heat, they have to analyze the different materials used for the machines; investigate the different energy sources and the power they generate and the design problems if any. While designing and making a commercial product; they have to take into account all the business and marketing aspects to make sure that the product is affordable. About Department : The Department offers graduate degree B.E in Mechanical Engineering and Post Graduate degree M.E. in Mechanical-Manufacturing System Engineering affiliated to Mumbai University. Mechanical Engineering Department is the biggest department established in 1994. This branch includes the area of Design, Thermal, Production, CAD-CAM, and Workshop. CAD-CAM is having recent modern licensed software such as IDEAS 8.0, ANSYS8, Auto desk Inventor series 7.0 etc. Department has setup a semi production CNC lathe machine with ultra modern facilities. Department has well experienced and qualified faculty to its credit. A complete automation lab, Instrumentation lab and computerized CCT camera & analyzer facilities are already setup.

The applications of electronics are in a wide range of products, including consumer electronics; telecommunications; diagnostics and treatment devices for medicine; audio and video; control; computing; data storage and retrieval; photography; measurement and metrology equipment; aviation and avionics; manufacturing; natural resource extraction; and early warning and radar. Electronics & Telecommunications has a major role in improving productivity in such diverse industries as aviation, telecommunication, entertainment, oil, energy, and agriculture.

Electronics & Telecommunications engineering is a constantly changing and widening branch of the engineering profession having applications in every discipline of engineering. Apart from academic activities, the department organizes various seminars and guest lectures, intercollegiate Tech-Fest for updating technical knowledge. The department has fully equipped laboratories with modern and sophisticated equipments. Electronics Department is also playing major role in joint Collaborative Research Project with Konkan Railway Corporation entitled ‘Development of Intelligent Health Monitoring System for Electrically Operated Point Machines of Railway Signaling System at Stations’. Mr. K.K. Warhade is the Coordinator of this Research Project. The R&D work for this project is carried out in Design and Automation Lab of Electronics Department. Prof. J. I. Sayyad having 14 years of teaching experience is heading the department. The Department offers graduate degree B.E. in Electronics Engineering affiliated to Mumbai University.

Bachelor of Engineering (BE Computer Science & Engineering)

Future Scope : Computer Engineering is a discipline that combines both Electrical engineering and Computer Science. Computer engineers usually have training in electrical engineering, software design and hardware- software integration instead of only software engineering or electrical engineering. Computer engineers are involved in many aspects of computing, from the design of individual microprocessors, personal computers, and supercomputers, to circuit design. This field of engineering not only focuses on how computer systems themselves work, but also how they integrate into the larger picture.

Computer engineers are involved in writing software and firmware for embedded microcontrollers, designing VLSI chips, designing analog sensors, designing mixed signal circuit boards, and designing operating systems. Computer engineers are also suited for robotics research which relies heavily on using digital systems to control and monitor electrical systems like motors, communications, and sensors.

About department : The Department was established in 1994.The department has well-qualified and experienced teaching faculty which are assisted by Qualified Technical staff. The Department is well equipped with latest generation of computer. The Computer lab of the department has state-of-art Hardware and Software. The department provides wide exposure to the student in keeping up with the fast changing scenario both in computer software and hardware. Equipped with the latest developments tools, the department also undertakes industry and research projects giving the students the valuable experience and exposure. The Department encourages interaction with experts from the industry. Seminars, industrial visits, technical quiz paper presentation contest are some of the activities that give students a feel of the feel of real world. The Department is also associated with the professional bodies like ISTE, CSI.
