About Bhavans BMS

The Bachelor of Management Studies was started by the Mumbai University in June 1999. The administrating body of the course is the 'Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management'. The course is spread over a period of three years with each year containing two semesters. In order to pass a semester a person has to score a minimum of 50% marks in each subject. The final exam is of 60 marks while the remaining 40 marks are covered internally by the college through things like projects, practicals, presentations, etc. In the entire three year period, students appear for a total of 38 theory papers and 2 projects (both of which are in the last year).

The course aims at creating world class managers whose area of expertise would exceed that of a B.Com graduate. The students are encouraged to participate in presentations, debates, role plays, group discussions, etc. aimed at improving their public speaking skills, their team work skills, their people skills and also their self-confidence. The course not only prepares a student for a job very well but it also helps one do better at exams such as the MBA entrance test, banking exams, etc
