The department encompasses courses from fundamental micro and macroeconomics to applied economics by providing rich inputs of course materials with judicious mix of current economic changes.
Students are introduced to the micro- and macroeconomic theories that guide empirical applications in applied fields in Economics, quantitative methods for addressing economic problems and cross-disciplinary perspectives on such problems.
A conscious effort is made to relate theoretical concepts to ever evolving macro and micro economic challenges under different economic regimes.
Emphasis on the application of economic tools to real socio-economic problems and developments in Economics as evident in the growing Economics literature.
With the help of software and databases students are engaged in research work and economic analysis which are the backbone of economic planning for modern industrial organizations as well as nations today.
