The Department of Architecture has matured into a well established nursery for the budding Architects since its inception. Department is offering three / five year degree / diploma programmes. The department has the distinction of being approved NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) test centre of Council of Architecture, New Delhi and hosting the Zonal NASA (National Association of Student Architects) convention.
The programmes being offered are aimed at nurturing highly creative and inspired Architects who are willing to innovate, experiment and imbibe the latest trends in the field. The most distinctive feature of the programmes offered is the focus on the contemporary global trends of physical development and live design projects right from the first term. The programmes are structured in five groups taking care of the every dimension of the growing and ever changing design industry viz. Core Courses, Supporting Courses, Skill Development Courses, Management Courses and Elective Courses
The academics focus on the development of students’ creative skills by encouraging experimentation with new materials and processes with great concern for material conservation. The students are amply exposed to the advanced technology, latest materials and other issues related to man power, human skills, efficiency, cost, economy, etc. Due emphasis is given on the Entrepreneurship projects / Consultancy projects which provide a cutting edge to the students of the University. The students are sent for training at various design houses (National and Multi National Company’s), as a part of their Bachelor’s curriculum. Additionally, LPU has a Division of Student Career Services catering to the placement needs of the students by organizing campus placement drives by the leading companies.
The Department thus makes an all round effort to train complete, socially and environmentally conscious professionals who will have the potential to create designs which are unique and sustainable.
