The department of MCA-VTU started in 2006, and has excelled in its teaching learning methodology and has consistent good academic track and prepares the students in a variety of areas employing various teaching and training methodologies and putting priority to the practical perspective. Students have also excelled in curricular and co-curricular activities and won laurels in competitions, intercollegiate fests.

The MCA course is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, Karnataka. Within a span of two years, the department has conducted 2 National conferences on “Vedic mathematics” and “Chandrayaana” sponsored by ISRO, AICTE, CSIR. The department has also facilitated an Exhibition from ISRO. The department is periodically organizing guest lectures/workshops and other FDP for the benefit of students and faculties.

HR CLUB – The faculty in charge Ms. Purnima Thampi conducted various activities. “Managing Firms Digitally”. Marketing workshop deliberated on topics like marketing of micro finance products, organic food products and marketing of political parties. Theory Subjects

Note 1: Question Paper setting – Internal assessment marks (IA Marks)
As prescribed by the University, the students appear for 3 internal tests during each semester. Question papers for these internal tests are set by the faculty member who teaches that subject. Each test paper is set for 80marks and expected to answer for maximum of 50 marks in 1 ½ Hours duration.

Note 2 : Question Paper setting – External (University)

External examinations are conducted at the end of each semester on the dates announced by the University. These examinations are common to all affiliated colleges of the University. The question paper is set by external faculty usually conversant with subject. The examination is of 3 hours duration with maximum marks of 100. The two examiners (one from internal and from external) will jointly conduct the examination as per the university syllabus. The practical examinations performed by students individually.
