Gian Jyoti Institute of Bachelor Education, also known as Gian Jyoti Institute of B Ed College, is one of the premier educational institutions of its field in Himachal Pradesh. The college is located in Kangra district of the state. The institution is recognized by National Council for Teacher Education NCTE and is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University HPU, Shimla.

This institute came into existence by the efforts of Gian Jyoti College, Rajol and the courtesy of HP Govt., HP University and NCTE Jaipur. It started functioning from October 2003. It marches ahead with the mission to make education simple to learn and bring out the best from every student. The vision of the authorities is to see the students not as they are but what they can be, meaning there by “Excellence by efforts.”

Gian Jyoti B.Ed. College, Rajol is located at a distance of 10km. from Kangra on Pathankot-Mandi National Highway just 4 km. from Gaggal towards Pathankot. The College is situated in the picturesque beauty of Dhauladhar range. The authorities feel proud in declaring that six sessions have passed successfully from the college. There is a regular bus service to the place from Kangra, Dharamshala, Nurpur, Palampur and Debra. Not only is the college served by regular & ample bus services but other facilities like railway & Airport are available at a distance of just 2 k.m. from college complex.

The college got reorganization from National Council of Teacher Education N.C.T.E. on 5th July, 2003 and affiliation to run the B.Ed classes by H.P.U. Shimla from time to time. The admission to the students in the college is done strictly on the basis of entrance test conducted by H.P.U. Shimla and out of the 100 seats allotted to the college, 40 seats are available for the Arts Stream, 30 seats for the medical stream and the reaming 30 seats for non medical stream.

The college is housed in a spacious building with sufficient number of rooms comprising of classrooms, laboratories, Library assembly hall, common rooms, administrative office and staff room. The college has a well-equipped computerised Library with large number of books both on education and general subjects. Special attention is given for self confidence development and leadership guidelines are also provided. The attention is primarily focussed of the academic excellence. The institution is making an endeavor with great zeal and dedication especially in academic field, which will guide our student’s career with exhilaration and sophistication.
