The Awasthi College of Education situated in Dharamshala. The college was started from the academic session September 2009-2010 by the registered Awasthi Education Society in order to share the commitment of the Constitution for Universalization of education by imparting B.Ed. training to the students of Medical, Non-Medical, Arts and Commerce streams so that that the trained teachers can be provided to the schools situated in tribal, difficult and other area of state.

College has been granted recognition by the National Council for Teacher Education, Jaipur vide their letter no. NCTE/HP-231/2008-63289 dated 26 June 2008 and affiliated to H.P. University, Shimla on the basis of No Objection Certificate granted by H.P. Government with intake of one unit of 100 students. The college academic session started from September 2009-10

The college is at a beautiful place which is calm, peaceful and free from pollution with proper environment required for the functioning of the college. The college is well equipped with the requirement infrastructure including required fixture and furniture.

Mrs. Krishna Awasthi, Chairperson of the society has been authoritatively looking after the functioning of a college with her energetic efforts, dedication and devotion to the development of the society.
