K.M.Mission Medical & Educational Trust, Madurai started the K.M.College of Pharmacy in the year, 1981 with foresight to provide pharmacy education in the backward districts and develop an institution of excellence in Pharmacy. The Diploma in Pharmacy course was started in 1981 with the permission of the Govt. of Tamilnadu and Pharmacy Council of India.

JSS College of Pharmacy was established in 1980 with the object of imparting quality pharmacy education in India. Initially only Diploma course was started and subsequently graduate, postgraduate courses and doctoral courses were added. The mission statement of the institution was redefined in the year 1990 and it was decided that the institution would strive hard to have a fully equipped Postgraduate studies and Research centre.

Sundaravel Sivaguru Charitable Trust and Sankaralingam Bhuvaneswari Trust that were registered under the Society Registration Act started the Sankaralingam Bhuvaneswari College of Pharmacy in the year 1988. Shri.S.S.Sankaralingam, the founder of the institution is a person gifted with a kind of unquenchable thirst for introducing innovativeness is being loved by one and all.
