Kalyan Post Graduate College, Bhilai Nagar is Run by Chhattisgarh Kalyan Samiti. In June, 1947, the idea of establishing a college in Virudhunagar was mooted at Nadar Mahajana Sangam meet held at Kovilpatti.

The Colleges are affiliated to the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Srinagar, and Garhwal as per Uttarakhand Govt. Notification 2272/HRD/2001-3/2/2001 of June 2001 with the following sanctioned courses. The Garhwal University has been awarded B++ grading by NAAC wide their Letter No. NAAC/A&A/ outcome/2003/65/4, dated-21 March, 2003. Recently,the H.N.B. Garhwal University got the status of Central University on 19th of January, 2009.

M.V.Muthiah Government Arts College for Women was established in the year 1966 in Dindigul by the Tamilnadu Government as there was no college for women in the district. It was started with an intake of 175 students with pre-university, undergraduate courses and a hostel to accommodate 50 students.
