It was resolved in the General Body Meeting of the Bodinayakanur Pranthiya Thenninthia Ela Vivasayigal Sangam the then Cardamom Planters' Association, held on August 29, 1970 to start a College at Bodinayakanur. The Cardamom Planters' Association College Society was formed and registered in 1972. Sixty members were elected to the Society from among the General Body.
