Nadar Mahajana Sangam Sermathai Vasan for Women college has been established in 1993 by Nadar Mahajana Sangam,a premier charitable institution, to serve the cause of the society and the upliftment of women. Sermathai Vasan College for Women is one of the eighteen educational institutions of the Nadar Mahajana Sangam among its various Colleges, Polytechnics. ITIs and Schools that had long been established.
This college is named after the philanthropic Kalvithanthai Thiru V.G. Vasan and Kalvithai Thirumathi Sermathai Vasan . They are the patrons of the college. With unpolluted surroundings and peaceful environment, the campus is located ( Near Madurai Ring Road) on the way to "Periyar Nagar" within the Avaniapuram postal limits of Madurai.
In addition to Teaching University curriculum, the College promotes the essential qualities like Courtesy, Obedience, Punctuality, Simplicity, Honesty, Patriotism and Faith in God, And moulds the students in multi - dimensional objective of developing their personality.
