The Govt. Laxmaneshwar College Kharod was established on the July 1965. In early days it was organised by Laxmaneshwar Shikshan Samiti as a private college. Government Pandit Madhav Rao Sapre College was established on 11th November 1989 in the name of Pandit Madhav Rao Sapre. College is affiliated to Bilaspur University. The College was shifted to the new building adjacent to the old structure in the year 2001. The institution was the only Girl’s College in the area in last session 2014-15. The college has been converted into a co-ed colege from the present session 2015-16 by the order of the Government of Chhattisgarh.

Government Degree College Chaubattakhal was established in October, 1979 as a higher education centre in the remote and backward hilly region of Uttarakhand state.
