Govt. Degree College, Pampore was established in 2011 and is affiliated to University of Kashmir. Presently the college offers B. Sc, B. A., and B. Com following CBCS curriculum. In these past ten years the college has grown rapidly. Govt. Degree College for women was established in the year 2008 Vide Govt. Order No: 269 HE of 2007 Dated: 20-12-2007 for promoting female education and to diffuse the rush at GDC Pulwama. The college stands recognized by University Grants Commission New Delhi vide Order No. FNo.8-161/2011 CPP-I/C Dated: 29-11-2011.

The College has separate Male and Female wings .The Boys wing is presently housed in a three storeyed building with 15 Rooms, with free boarding & lodging arrangements as well. A dining hall and a kitchen is also attached with College.
