Understanding Your MAT Scorecard

The MAT Scorecard contains several distinct metrics:

  • Sectional Scaled Score: The score for each of the 5 sections is reported on a scale ranging from 0 to 100. Scores below 20 or above 80 are rare.
  • Sectional Percentile: Indicates the percentage of examinees who scored lower than the candidate in that individual section.
  • Composite Score: A scaled composite metric ranging from 199 to 801, computed from the first 4 sections.
  • Composite Percentile: The primary metric used by top business schools for shortlisting candidates for GD/PI rounds.
  • Economic & Business Environment Score: Stated separately on the card and not factored into the composite score.

Validity of MAT Scorecard

The MAT scorecard is valid for one year from the date of exam administration for admission into academic programmes for the corresponding admission cycle.
