IPU CET Syllabus
IPU CET does not have one universal syllabus: GGSIPU publishes programme- and CET-code-specific topics. Use the syllabus chapter for the programme you selected and check whether admission is through a University CET, a national-level exam or another route. The 2027 syllabus had not been announced in the official sources reviewed on 11 October 2026.
How to map your syllabus
- First identify the exact programme and CET code: the UG and PG admission brochures list the applicable entrance route and course-specific eligibility.
- Read the matching syllabus entry: subject mix and difficulty can differ by programme; do not use a guide for another CET code.
- Check national-test admissions: some programmes use tests such as NATA or CLAT instead of an IPU CET paper; other routes can include national-level tests or CUET.
- Use official sample/past material where provided: confirm the year, code and programme before using it.
Official 2026 example: Bachelor of Design, CET code 600
- Analytical and logical reasoning: series and sequences in numbers, shapes, patterns, figures and words; missing elements; blood relations; direction and distance; coding/decoding; analogies; matrix completion; embedded figures; classification and figure analysis.
- Visual aptitude: presentation and diagrammatic reasoning; object/image recognition; spatial relationships between 2D shapes and 3D objects; cubes/dice; scale, perspective and vanishing points; mirror/water images; projection and isometric drawing.
- General awareness for design: designed arts, artefacts, sculpture and literature; social and cultural contexts; design history; environmental sustainability and socially responsible design.
- Related design topics in the 2026 brochure: visual perception/Gestalt grouping, colour theory and interaction, geometry/proportion, and principles such as balance, hierarchy, emphasis, contrast, scale and rhythm.
This example is for the B.Des programme specified in the 2026 brochure; it is not the syllabus for all IPU CETs. The historical 2022 CET BHMCT article on IndCareer listed English comprehension, general awareness, logical/analytical ability including computer awareness, and accounts/commerce/science knowledge for that course and cycle only. Use the latest programme-specific GGSIPU document as the authority.
