Score Normalization & 3-Year Validity
For subjects conducted across multiple shifts (such as Computer Science, Civil, or Mechanical), IIT Madras implements a multi-session normalization formula based on the assumption that the distribution of candidate abilities is comparable across all sessions.
The GATE Scorecard remains valid for 3 Years from the date of result announcement for admission to M.Tech, M.S., and Ph.D. programs in IITs, NITs (via CCMT), IIITs, and IISc. Most PSUs, however, accept scores only from the current single testing cycle for their executive trainee hiring.
