The following section map reflects the latest published CMAT pattern available for reference and the historic IndCareer syllabus page. Treat the topics as a preparation guide, not a guarantee of the 2027 question list. Check the current NTA bulletin when released.

Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation

• Arithmetic: percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, profit and loss, interest, time and work, speed, distance and time.
• Number systems, algebra, equations, progressions, geometry, mensuration, permutation and combination, and probability.
• Data interpretation using tables, charts, graphs, caselets and comparisons; estimation and calculation accuracy.

Logical Reasoning

• Arrangements, ordering, grouping and selection; routes, directions and ranking.
• Series, analogies, coding and decoding, blood relations and input-output patterns.
• Statements, conclusions, assumptions, arguments, syllogisms, deductions and analytical puzzles.

Language Comprehension

• Reading comprehension, inference, tone, main idea and vocabulary in context.
• Grammar, sentence correction, usage, para-jumbles and sentence completion.
• Verbal reasoning, idioms, synonyms, antonyms and coherent paragraph construction.

General Awareness

• Current events in India and internationally, including business, economy, science, technology and public affairs.
• Static general knowledge such as history, geography, polity, culture, sports, awards and organisations.
• Build regular revision notes and verify facts from reliable sources; the exam's precise coverage can vary.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship

• Entrepreneurial traits, opportunity recognition, business models and startup fundamentals.
• Innovation, intellectual property basics, incubation, funding, risk and business growth.
• Entrepreneurship in the Indian ecosystem, government initiatives and current business developments.

Study plan

1. Read the 2027 official syllabus and identify changes from the 2026 structure before fixing a study plan.
2. Build fundamentals in all five areas and schedule timed practice across each section.
3. Use official sample material or prior papers where available, then review errors and weak concepts.
4. Revise current affairs consistently and take full-length mocks under the published time limit.

Historical pattern: CMAT 2026 used 100 questions across five 20-question sections in 180 minutes. The 2027 duration, sections, topics, question counts and marking rules remain subject to NTA notification.
