Exam Pattern Overview
The examination consists of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in total.

- Total Duration: 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes).
- Marking: Each question carries 1 mark. There is no negative marking.
- Note: If you are applying for Engineering Diploma courses, you are primarily evaluated on Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (120 marks total). If you are applying for Agriculture/Veterinary diplomas, you must attempt the Biology section as well.

1. Mathematics
- Algebra: Real Numbers, Sets, Polynomials, Pair of Linear Equations in two variables, Quadratic Equations, Progressions (Arithmetic Progressions), Logarithms.
- Geometry & Trigonometry: Similar Triangles, Circles, Tangents and Secants to a Circle, Coordinate Geometry (Straight Lines), Trigonometry, Applications of Trigonometry.
- Mensuration & Statistics: Surface Areas and Volumes, Statistics, Probability, Mathematical Modelling.
2. Physics
- Light: Reflection of Light at Curved Surfaces, Refraction of Light at Curved Surfaces, Refraction of Light at Plane Surfaces, The Human Eye and the Colourful World.
- Electricity & Magnetism: Electric Current, Electromagnetism (Magnetic Effects of Electric Current).
- Energy: Sources of Energy, Heat.
3. Chemistry
- Fundamental Concepts: Structure of Atom, Classification of Elements (Periodic Table), Chemical Bonding.
- Reactions: Chemical Equations and Reactions, Acids, Bases and Salts, Redox Reactions.
- Applied Chemistry: Carbon and its Compounds, Principles of Metallurgy.
4. Biology
- Life Processes: Nutrition, Respiration, Transportation, Excretion, Control and Coordination, Coordination in Life Processes.
- Genetics & Environment: Reproduction, Heredity, Our Environment, Natural Resources.
Recommended Preparation Strategy
- NCERT/State Textbooks: Since the exam is based on the SSC curriculum, mastering your 10th-grade textbooks is the most effective way to prepare.
- Conceptual Clarity: Focus on understanding the underlying scientific principles rather than just rote memorization.
- Practice: Solve previous years’ question papers to get accustomed to the question format and time management.
- Formula Sheets: Maintain a dedicated notebook for mathematical formulas, chemical equations, and physics constants/definitions for quick revision.
