The TG PECET Cutoff 2026 is the minimum score required to be considered for the merit list. For the General and BC categories, the qualifying mark is 30% of the total 500 marks (i.e., 150 marks). There are no minimum qualifying marks prescribed for SC/ST candidates; however, they must appear for all components of the physical test to be eligible for ranking.
Qualifying Marks for TG PECET 2026
To secure a rank in the Telangana Physical Education Common Entrance Test, candidates must achieve the following aggregate scores across the Physical Efficiency Test (400M) and Skill Proficiency (100M).
| Category | Qualifying Percentage | Required Marks (Out of 500) |
| General (OC) | 30% | 150 |
| Backward Classes (BC) | 30% | 150 |
| Scheduled Castes (SC) | No Minimum | Must appear for all tests |
| Scheduled Tribes (ST) | No Minimum | Must appear for all tests |
Insider Insight: While SC/ST candidates don’t have a “pass mark,” scoring below 120 marks often limits admission to private colleges with higher fee structures. Aiming for 250+ is essential for government seat consideration regardless of category.

The IndCareer Edge: Understanding the Merit List
1. Rank Card Download

2. The 15% Unreserved Trap
Candidates from Andhra Pradesh or other states (Non-Locals) should note that cutoffs for the 15% unreserved seats are significantly higher. A “safe” rank for a non-local candidate to get into GCPE Hyderabad is usually under Rank 150.
3. Tie-Breaking Protocol
If two students score the same aggregate:
- The candidate with higher marks in the Physical Efficiency Test gets the better rank.
- If still tied, the candidate with higher marks in the Skill Test is preferred.
- Finally, the older candidate (based on DOB) is given priority.
