Private Elementary Teacher Education Institutions (PETEIs)

Private colleges account for the majority of the D.El.Ed intake in Telangana. While the Convener Quota (80%) is filled through TG DEECET web counseling, the Management Quota (20%) allows direct admission provided the candidate has qualified for the entrance exam or meets minimum Intermediate eligibility.

Understanding the 85% Local vs. 15% Non-Local Reservation

Telangana follows the Presidential Order for seat allotment. Seats are divided into:

  • Local Candidates (85%): Reserved for students belonging to the specific local area (OU region).
  • Unreserved/Non-Local (15%): Open to both Local and Non-local candidates based on merit.

Reservation Categories & Percentage Breakdown

The seat allotment software applies the following reservation percentages during the counseling process:

Backward Classes (BC)25% (A:7%, B:10%, C:1%, D:7%, E:4%)

The “IndCareer” Edge: Strategic Seat Selection

When participating in TG DEECET 2026 Web Counseling, follow the “District Preference” strategy. Students often cluster their choices around Hyderabad and Warangal.

Expert Advice: If your rank is above 5,000, prioritize colleges in districts like Adilabad or Mahabubnagar. These districts often have a lower cutoff rank compared to urban centers, increasing your chances of securing a seat in the first phase of allotment.
