Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law (MH CET Law)

MH CET Law (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law) is the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra's online entrance examination for admission to the three-year LL.B. and five-year integrated LL.B. programmes in Maharashtra. Candidates must apply separately for each course they intend to pursue. The 2026 cycle's examinations have concluded; the State CET Cell's official site is the source for current 2026-27 Centralized Admission Process (CAP) notices and any revised schedule.

2027 cycle: As of 11 October 2026, the official pages reviewed do not publish MH CET Law 2027 application or examination dates. Treat dates as to be announced until the State CET Cell issues its next notice. The 2026 facts below are cycle-specific and should not be assumed to carry over unchanged.

Two MH CET Law courses

• Three-year LL.B.: For eligible graduates. The 2026 brochure requires a recognised bachelor's degree following the 10+2+3 pattern, with the minimum aggregate marks applicable to the candidate's category.
• Five-year integrated LL.B.: For eligible candidates who have passed or are appearing in Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination. The 2026 brochure's minimum aggregate marks and Maharashtra candidature/reservation conditions apply.
• Separate course applications: The 2026 brochures state that an application and hall ticket are course-specific. Applying for one course does not register a candidate for the other.

Eligibility criteria (2026 brochure)

Three-year LL.B.: A bachelor's degree in any faculty from a UGC-recognised university, following a 10+2+3 pattern. The 2026 brochure specifies at least 45% aggregate for Open, All India/OMS, SEBC and EWS candidates; 42% for Maharashtra VJNT, SBC and OBC candidates; and 40% for Maharashtra SC/ST candidates. Candidates from outside Maharashtra are treated under the Open category in the brochure.

Five-year integrated LL.B.: Passed or appearing in Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. The 2026 brochure specifies at least 45% aggregate for Open, All India/OMS, SEBC and EWS candidates; 42% for Maharashtra VJNT, SBC and OBC candidates; and 40% for Maharashtra SC/ST candidates. Category, domicile, candidature type and certificate conditions apply during CAP.

The State CET Cell's 2026 brochures contain detailed candidature, certificate, rounding and category provisions, including course-specific notes. Review the current brochure rather than relying on a broad summary; reserved-category benefits require the prescribed Maharashtra documents. Any age-related condition or judicial clarification must likewise be checked in the applicable official notice.

Application fees (2026)

The 2026 brochures list a non-refundable online processing fee of ₹1,300 for Open-category candidates from Maharashtra, OMS/All India candidates of all categories, and J&K migrant candidates. The fee is ₹1,000 for eligible Maharashtra candidates in the specified backward-class categories with the required certificates, and for Maharashtra orphan, transgender and PwD candidates. Payment gateway charges may be additional. These are 2026 amounts, not a confirmed 2027 fee schedule.
