AP PGECET Counselling Process
AP PGECET Counselling Process

The AP PGECET 2026 counselling is an online process involving registration, document uploading, web options, and seat allotment. Success depends entirely on your document verification status. Ensure all certificates, specifically Income and Integrated Community Certificates, are updated via MeeSeva before the registration window opens in July 2026.

Step-by-Step Counselling Flowchart

The AP PGECET 2026 counselling follows a structured sequence. Failing to complete one step effectively invalidates the next.

  1. Registration & Fee Payment: Pay the non-refundable processing fee via the official APSCHE portal using your Hall Ticket and Rank.
  2. Certificate Verification: Upload scanned copies of original documents. Verification is mostly online, but keep originals ready for physical reporting.
  3. Choice Filling (Web Options): Login with your ID/Password to select your preferred college and branch combinations.
  4. Seat Allotment: Results are published based on your rank and category.
  5. Reporting: Download the allotment letter, pay the tuition fee (self-reporting), and physically report to the allotted college.

The Mandatory Document Checklist (“Zero-Error” Edition)

Minor discrepancies in names or invalid dates lead to instant rejection during verification. All caste/income certificates must be issued by the Andhra Pradesh MeeSeva portal.

Understanding Web Options Entry: How to rank choices

Web options are the most critical phase. Many students with good ranks lose seats by filling only 2-3 options.

  • The “Broad Net” Strategy: Fill in as many options as possible. Your rank gets you an entry, but your preference list determines the college.
  • Logical Ordering:
    1. Top choices (Dream colleges).
    2. Middle choices (Good colleges you are confident of getting).
    3. Safety choices (Colleges where your rank is well within the previous year’s cutoff).
  • The “Lock” Button: Always click “Save” after every 5 selections. Do not wait until the end to “Freeze” your choices, as internet outages at the deadline are common.

FAQs on Seat Allotment & Fee Reimbursement

What happens if my certificate verification fails?

You will be marked as “Not Verified,” and your web options will not be considered. You must resolve discrepancies at the designated help centers immediately.

Who is eligible for full Fee Reimbursement?

Candidates whose family income is below the prescribed limit (usually ₹2.5 Lakhs for SC/ST/BC/EBC/Minority/PH) and who hold a valid, recent Income Certificate are eligible.

Does GATE/GPAT qualification affect my counselling?

Yes. GATE/GPAT qualified candidates are given priority in seat allocation. If you qualified for both GATE and AP PGECET, mention your GATE score for a competitive edge.

Can I change my web options after freezing?

Usually, the APSCHE provides a specific “Edit” window. Once this window closes, you cannot modify your choices.

What is the “Self-Reporting” system?

It is an online confirmation of the seat allotted to you. If you do not self-report, the system assumes you have rejected the seat, and it will be offered to the next candidate in the sliding process.
