University has established an independent Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory in 1995. The trained and devoted scientist having background of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics and plant breeding, Genetic Engineering, Tissue Culture and Plant Transformation techniques were pooled from the various places in the jurisdiction of the university and placed under one umbrella at central campus Dapoli in 2000. Consequently from the university receipts and the Swaminathan Foundation Project and Mega seed project some of the major equipments required for Biotechnology research were purchased and research work initiated
