OBD Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA) - The BPA is designed to address a gap in most performing arts education: serious consideration of how students will develop the means to put their training to use once they graduate. There are many ways to do so, and most require the ability to create one’s own opportunities, often in collaboration with peers. Culture is always changing, and BPA graduates will be encouraged to define the nature of that change. The Bachelor of Performing Arts provides students with a broad, coherent knowledge of the performing arts alongside special skills units that explore specialist knowledge in more depth. The course is underpinned by core performance and management skills that are necessary to gain professional employment as a contemporary arts practitioner and to create new employment opportunities. Within the current landscape there is a need for training which builds skills to work across the diversity of art forms, encouraging students to think as an actor, writer, designer, director, manager and producer simultaneously.
