M.A. Persian - Stands for Master of Arts in Persian. Typically, a M.A. is a two year course, minimum eligibility for which is a B.A. in Persian. Persian is the study of literature, linguistics and philosophy of the Persian language. Subjects typically studied under this degree are Poetry, Drama, Fiction, Literary Criticism, Literary History etc.The MA Honours Persian degree programme at Edinburgh offers students the opportunity to attain proficiency in the Persian language as well as the study of historical, literary, cultural and political aspects of Iran, Afghanistan, Persian-speaking Central Asia, and the Persian diaspora.
