It commenced with a mere strength of 80 students first Rajnandgaon district. Hence, making it the first in the region and the need of education for the tribal people was fulfilled the management committee and the administrative committee appointed shri C. R. Shivaswami I.O.C, Bhilai Steel Plant and late Shri Jaalam Singh Patel former M.P., Madhya Pradesh Govt. their assimilated efforts made possible the construction and running of 5 class room in 1976. In 1983, the college came under government undertaking which resulted in the construction and commencement of 3 more class rooms., The government undertaking and the herald of commerce department both founded on 19 December, 1983. After government influence, the name of the college transformed to govt. Nemi Chand Jain Arts, Commerce and Science college the stream of sociology was founded here in 1990-91 and started offering post graduate courses on 1998-99, post graduate courses in commerce and economics started functioning as well. P.G. classes in Hindi and Political science was started in the year 2013., Vision, The Govt.
