The department of social work offers two years M.S.W. degree program. Social work is a Professional and academic discipline that seeks to improve the quality of life and subjective well-being of individuals, groups, and communities through research, policy, community organizing, direct practice, crisis, and teaching for the benefit of those affected by social disadvantages such as poverty, mental and physical illness or disability, and social injustice, including violations of their civil liberties and human rights.
To full fill the above mission, the Department has outlined the following objectives:
Impart education and training in professional social work in order to create qualified personnel in social welfare and allied fields through culture-sensitive, eclectic and evidence-based participatory practice;
Develop knowledge, skills, attitudes and values appropriate to the social work profession;
Promote integration of theory and practice in the fields of social welfare and social policy; and
Provide interdisciplinary collaboration for better understanding of human problems, systemic discrimination and marginalization, issues of social development and needed services.
