  • IIT Bill passed by Parliament, now students to get degrees by IIT

    Parliament has passed a bill that will make way for existing six IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) to grant degrees to the engineers that pass out. The Institute of Technology (Amendment) Bill, 2010, along with the National Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Bill, 2010, was passed by the Rajya Sabha by voice vote Monday. Both the bills have already been passed by the Lok Sabha. The bills were pending in the Rajya Sabha.
  • AIPMT admit cards available for download

    Students can now download All India Pre-medical / Pre-Dental Test 2012 admit cards online from these websites www.cbse.nic.in or www.aipmt.nic.in If the application status of candidate shows not received or Please contact CBSE before 21st March 2012 then students should call them and inquire about their problem. Students contacting CBSE must mention details of their application, such as post office, date of dispatch, original receipt of postal dispatch, photostat copy of confirmation page and demand draft, and two photographs as pasted on the confirmation page.
  • Selection for the post of Director (Works) has been postponed by DMRC

    DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) has canceled the selection for the post of Director (Works) that was going to be held today on 17th January 2012. The selection procedure is postponed due to administrative emergency. New Schedule will be issued soon by DMRC.
  • Students from Bihar Village School clears International Mathematics Olympiad, IITians, skype,Computers

    6 students from Gopalganj district in Bihar have cleared International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) examination. The school is founded by IITians and it imparts education using latest technology. Six selected students will now appear for IMO's level 2 examination. Teaching takes place through skype. Computers are run by generators as there is no power in the village.
  • Delhi University to stop Re-evaluation from the year 2013

    Delhi University (DU) is planning to stop re-evaluation from the year 2013. The university will continue rechecking of answer sheets. In rechecking the examiner would only re-total marks in the answer sheet.
  • None of the IIMs appeal to CAT topper Vipul Tyagi

    Vipul Tyagi appeared in Common Admission Test (CAT) 2011 and was top scorer. But none of the IIMs appeal to this Engineering lad who has got call from IIM Kozhikode, IIM- Calcutta and other institutes. He says he just wants to prove other students that CAT is not very difficult and is not the property of the topper. Any person with good reasoning capacity and presence of mind can qualify CAT.
  • Shiksha.com launches Common Application form for B-Schools

    Shiksh.com owned by InfoEdge India Ltd has launched common Application Form to be filled by students applying for all B-Schools in India. This will held the MBA aspirant to fill up a single form and will free the candidates from hassles of filling up different forms. Any MBA college which needs any extra information will get it from the student by means of a separate form. This will also save cost of purchasing different application forms. Till now 14 MBA institutes have given their consent, reply is awaited from other B-Schools.
  • R. Murugesan elected as the president of Indian Society for Technical Education, New Delhi for 2012 to 2012

    R. Murugesan, Vice Chancellor of Anna University of Technology, Madurai has been elected as the 15th president of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi for 2012 to 2012. The election for the post was held during Annual National Convention hosted by Baba Bandha Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab.
  • High tech cheating by Android cell phones for qualifying entrance examination of Elite Public Postgraduate Medical Schools

    Two MBA graduates pretended to be candidates for the entrance exam for Elite Public Postgraduate Medical Schools tried innovative cheating technique. They used android phones to capture question paper images and send them through email to a person answering the questions. Their could listen to answers through wireless ear plugs. This high tech cheating was just the same as displayed in Munna Bhai MBBS. Police was able to catch the accused after knowing about the incidence from a student who could not afford the high tech cheating because of lack of money.
  • AICTE to hold CMAT twice a year from 2013

    AICTE has decided to conduct Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) twice a year from 2013. The entrance exam will be conducted after a gap of 6 months. This would help interested candidates to sit again for the entrance test. The best score would be considered while admission in any B-School. From 2013 it will be mandatory for all AICTE approved colleges to take admission by considering CMAT scores.
