Grand opening of Vividha 2015: The Media Fest

The department of Mass Communication and Journalism of The IIS University has organized a two-day event ‘Vividha 2015’-The Media Fest on Thursday. Bollywood’s eminent Film Producer and Director Rahat Kazmi inaugurated this two day event along with 4nd Bazaar on Campus organized by the e-cell Chrysalis of the university which is also being held at Mansarovar situated campus.

In the inaugural ceremony, Identity Card, Dekh Re Dekh fame Mr. Rahat Kazmi while sharing his experiences with the students said that he belongs to a conservative family where media and entertainment industry was not acceptable to the parents. But it was his passion and determination that he has earned so much name and fame in bollywood. Also, Mr. Kazmi inspired the media students by saying that the dreams can be fulfilled only by taking risks.

The first day of inter-collegiate media festival has witnessed a variety of academic activities including Ad Mad, Media Quiz and Photography competition covering all facets of fun and learning. 22 teams from various colleges and universities have participated in which The IIS University stood on first and third position while second position was bagged by Rajasthan University.

In the Media Quiz, ten teams have made it to the finals and winner team belonged to Amity University, Jaipur while second and third position bagged by Rajasthan University and St. Xavier’s College respectively.

To instil Entrepreneurial skills amongst the students, CHRYSALIS E-cell of the IIS University has organized for 2 days, the 4th Bazaar on Campus. This E-bazaar aims at manifesting the latent entrepreneurial spirit of the students as well as teaching them skills and strategies of business. There are 20 business plans proposed by the budding student entrepreneurs and these will be evaluated on various business parameters.

  Aashirwaad Ceremony 2016 held at IIS University Jaipur The Aashirwaad Ceremony 2016 was held on Wednesday at India International School, Jaipur in the school Auditorium. The students of class 11 bid farewell to the outgoing seniors. The Director Dr. Ashok Gupta and the Principal Ms. Mala Agnihotri blessed the outgoing batch for the future. The head boy ‘Anshul Sharma, the head girl ‘Sugandha Vohra’ and the President Students Council IBDP ‘Aakriti Bhargava’ shared their experiences which were full of fond memories.

  The IIS University marks 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B R Ambedkar The IIS University celebrates the 125th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B R Ambedkar on Thursday. On the occasion of the 1st Constitution Day, Preamble reading session was organized in which Dr. Ashok Gupta Vice- Chancellor of the University read the preamble in front of the gathered students and staff members. A Photo and Poster exhibition was organized at the campus about the Indian Constitution, the Constituent Assembly and life and work of Dr. B R Ambedkar to increase awareness in this regard.

  The omnipotent, all pervasive media has been under the microscope for years, leaving multiple impressions and images in the minds of the audience. It is indisputable that the media has become an indispensable part of our lives.

  Sumita Rathore won Gold Medal in Shooting Championship

  Shooter Sumita Rathore of The IIS University won gold medal in All India Maharaja Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Championship organized by Karni Singh Memorial Trust, Bikaner in July. Sumita Rathore won the medal in singles 10 meters air pistol competition while in doubles, Sumita Rathore and Aishwarya Shekhawat bagged silver medal. Vice Chancellor of The IIS University, Dr. Ashok Gupta congratulated the winners and gave best wishes to perform better in future events. However, both the winners have given the credit to their mentor and sports coordinator of the university Dr. Renu Shungloo.
