Padma Bhushan Seth Mangturam Jaipuria established the college in memory of his father Seth Anandram Jaipuria as a service to higher education in pre-independent India. GPO Kolkata has expressed their wish to honour this journey by issuing a commemorative stamp this year. Mother Teresa International Award Committee (under the aegis of All India Minority and Weaker Sections Council) has conferred the ‘Mother Teresa International Award’ as the Best College of the year 2018. As per ranking by Edu World (an ISO certified Education Service Provider based in Bangalore) of 100 best colleges in India, (published in Education World, a Human Development Magazine, May 2019) Jaipuria College achieved a pride of place as the 55th top college in India and the 12th best in Kolkata., The array of subjects offered allows flexibility and freedom to our students. There are seven Departments in B.Sc. (Honours), nine Departments in B.A. (Honours) and three in B.Com. (Honours).
