Located in “Established in September 2012, Women Institute of Technology WIT Uttarakhand Government Institute Affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University and Approved by AICTE provides high quality technical education to girl students developing them into self reliant professionals. The institute offers B Tech programs across five disciplines: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering for science intermediates PCM, diploma and BSc holders. These undergraduate courses are duly recognized by State Government and approved by AICTE.Situated in the outskirts of Dun valley, WIT has a sprawling campus spread over acres with calm, serene and natural surroundings with a backdrop of Shivalik range of hills on one side and a rippling river on the other side. The institute provides amiable and congenial infrastructural facilities conducive for achieving academic excellence. It has excellent and spacious buildings, world – class lecture halls with modern AV aids, laboratories, workshop, well equipped library with large number of books and computer centre with strong networking/ internet/ Wi-Fi connectivity for all students and faculty., Women Institute of Technology, Dehradun is among the first four constituent colleges of Uttarakhand Technical University which were established in September 2012 with the approval of the State Government and AICTE. It is the first Women-Only engineering institute in the state of Uttarakhand. The Government Order vide 1193/XLI-1/2011-56/10, dated 15.11.2011 constituted the framework of the college. Thereafter, W.I.T. started functioning w.e.f. September 1st, 2012 at the Dehradun campus., The idea behind establishing the Institute was to empower women from rural and financially weaker sections of the society by providing technical knowledge and encouraging them to become confident & competent enough to meet the growing challenges of the professional world. In this aspect, W.I.T. has made tremendous progress by ensuring the availability of quality technical education to women students., These courses are available for science intermediates P.C.M, Diploma, and B.Sc. students. The undergraduate courses run at W.I.T. are duly recognized by the State Government and approved by A.I.C.T.E. Placements through campus is our topmost priority and has generated employment opportunities in global companies. Several co-curricular activities such as sports, cultural events, debates, workshops, and seminars are organized regularly for encouraging the overall development of our students., W.I.T., an AICTE Approved Government Engineering College, affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University, has a student count of 435 with around 28 dedicated faculty members to encourage the students’ academic and extra-curricular pursuits to achieve excellence in their respective field. Our faculty members are from reputed institutions such as the IITs and NITs.
