The Amity School of Governance (ASGO) was established in 2000 at the Amity Campus, Saket, New Delhi by the Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF), a philanthropic organisation founded by Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Chairman and CEO of the AKC Group of Companies. The mission of ASGO is to prepare the leaders for service to the democratic societies within and outside India. ASGO provides training for public leadership with a world vision. As a professional institution, ASGO is dedicated to promote learning through research and experience, actively fostering the collaborative efforts of scholars, public officials, and others that are vitally concerned with the public good.
In keeping with this objective, the ASGO would adopt the UNDP definition of Governance as "the exercise of economic, political and administrative authority to manage a country's affairs at all levels… it comprises the mechanisms, processes and institutions through which citizens and groups articulate their interests, exercise their legal rights, meet their obligations and mediate their differences. All its training activities would thus revolve around the concept of balancing the requirements of the State, the Private Sector and the Civil Society, since all the three are critical for sustaining human development. Develop training programmes for Governance Develop new partnerships Organise panel discussions, seminars and workshops Organise "Crusaders Meet" by inviting eminent personalities for interactive discussions on topics of current relevance to motivate and infuse a spirit of patriotism for the well being of the nation. The Faculty members from over 20 sister institutions in the area of Management, Law, Engineering & Technology, Computer Science, Insurance and Actuarial Science, et al, enrich the programmes of ASGO with their expertise and experience in their relevant disciplines.

The ASGO aims to work in close association and support stemming from Private Foundations, Multilateral and Bilateral Aid Agencies, Regional Development Banks, United Nations Organisations, and host Governments in the different regions. The ASGO is a multidisciplinary institution deeply engaged in research on issues cognate to public welfare and training of personnel towards achievement of this objective.
