Government Theni Medical College is situated in Theni in Tamil Nadu state of India. Established in 2004, it is accredited from MCI and it is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University. GTMC, Theni offers 2 courses across 2 streams namely Medical, Dental and across 2 degrees like MBBS, BDS. GTMC campus is spread over 32603 Acres. Hostel facility is not available for its students. Additional campus facilities such as Auditorium, Canteen, Computer Lab, Girls Hostel, Mess, Library, Medical Facilities, Cls. Room, Sports, Cafeteria are also there. Government Theni Medical College' accepts National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test-NEET-UG for admission into Engineering courses and National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test- NEET-UG for admission into Engineering courses

Government Theni Medical College is established in 2004 and run by Government of Tamilnadu. The College is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical university and approved by Medical Council of India, New Delhi. Theni Government Medical College imparts an undergraduate Course in the field of medical sciences Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBBS. The college has well equipped, airy and spacious Class rooms with all modern facilities.

Theni district is located in the foot hills of Western Ghats. Basically rural based, it has beautiful green landscape having agriculture as its prime background. To facilitate adequate and easy Medical facilities to the people of this district, Government Theni Medical College was established in the year 2004

The College is situated in Madurai-Theni highway 9 km from Theni and 7 km from Aundipatty. Vaigai dam is very closer to the college at a distance of 5kms.

The College is surrounded by a pleasant, calm and breezy environment for students’ studies.

The foundation for Government Theni Medical College was laid on 16th August 2002 by the Chief Minister Dr. J. Jayalalitha. The first hospital and college premises were inaugurated on 8th December 2004 by the Chief Minister Dr J Jayalalitha.

Our college premises includes Faculty block, 600 bedded hospital, Casualty block, Administrative block, Examination hall, Central library, Lecture Hall 3x120, 1x150 and 1x250, Blood Bank, Mortuary, Auditorium, Nursing school, Quarters for Dean, RMO, ARMO, Professors, Asst. Professors, Residents, Nurses and staffs, Separate hostels for Boys, girls and CRRI, Gymnasium, Post office, Cafeteria, Bank and Gas plant.

Medical college was started in the year 2006 with 100 seats for MBBS approved by Medical Council of India and it continues by admitting 100 students every year. The college is affiliated to Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University. DMLT, Nursing and 8 other Para Medical Courses are also being condcuted by this institution.

The college faculties have published many research papers in national and international journals and organized conferences, workshops, Training programes, seminars and CMEs.
