Government Polytechnic College is one of the polytechnics started in 2010 under Central government finance assistance. It started functioning on the Samuthaya Kudam with 160 students.The Polytechnic is situated at Kottur, 15 Km from the Theni Bus Stand, on Theni – Kambum main road.Government polytechnic college is committed to provide quality technical Education and to prepare the Students with knowledge, skill competence and moral & ethical values, which are acceptable and employable by the potential employers.It has very good infrastructure facilities and well established laboratories and equipments for the construction of building, central assistance of Rs 7.69 crore sanctioned by the Govt of India, Ministry of Human Resource & Development. Similarly for machineries and equipment 4.26crore of central Assistance was also sanctioned.
