Rathinavel Subramaniam Educational Trust was named in loving memory of the brilliant elder son of Lion Vijayashri Dr.K.V.Kupusamy and Smt.K.Padmavathy. It was unfortunate that God called him back 15th January 1972 when he met with an accident at the age of four. The impact of the great loss of their dear son in the minds of the loving parents was so immense that they decided to do some solid service to the deprived rural folk around Sulur. With this noble cause in mind and heart and through dedication Mrs. and Mr. Kupusamy started establishing educational institutions all over Tamilnadu of special and technical education under RVS Educational Trust to fulfill the educational needs of the youth of the country. The Rathinavel Subramaniam Educational Trust has under its fold a Matriculation School, Arts and Science College, college of Health sciences (Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Pharmacy), an Ayurveda College, a Homeopathy Medical College, a Polytechnic, an I.T.I., and a Data Centre at Dindigul. The Trust also runs Bhaktavasalam Vidyashram, a Higher Secondary School with CBSE syllabus and a Women's college at Korattur, Chennai.AICTE New Delhi and Directorate of Technical Education Chennai approve the RVS Polytechnic. It is blossomed into a full-fledged center of technical Education starting on 17th August 2006 with 240 students and 16 Teaching staff and 10 Non-Teaching staff with the Principal. The Polytechnic College at present is offering 8 Diploma courses.

Our college is situated about fifteen kilometers from the city of Coimbatore on the road to Trichy.The public transport facilities are in abundance. The college owns a bus for the use of the students and the staff.
