Located in Kongunadu Arts and Science College was started in the year 1973 and now it is one of best among the colleges affiliated to Bharathiar University. Over eighteen thousand students have successfully passed out so far from the College since its inception. The Kongunadu Arts and Science College Alumni Association was started in the year 1997 and registered as above in the year 2001. A large number of alumni got registered and articipated in the Alumni Meet. The Alumni members are serving the country in notable positions as IAS Officers, renowned scientists, famous doctors, skillful software engineers, popular lawyers, professors, lecturers, police officials and chartered accountants. In addition, more than a thousand of our alumni are working in Nationalised Banks and Government rganisations. Many are successful businessmen and agriculturists. We are proud that among our dedicated faculty, 55 members are our own alumni. We are also proud to state that our alumni are working in key positions abroad as doctors, software engineers, professors, scientists and teachers in countries such as U.S.A, Canada, U.K., Japan, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia., Aims and Objectives, The Alumni Association seeks to unite all the former students of the College through a common society and its members are working towards upholding and highlighting the name and fame of their Alma Mater. In whatever location they are placed now, they serve as ambassadors of goodwill, spreading the vision and mission of the esteemed Institution., Activities, The Association is rendering all kinds of help for the betterment of Educational Programmes for deserving and needy students by granting scholarships and giving silver medals for meritorious students at the College Day celebrations every year. Every year seven meritorious candidates are being benefitted by scholarships from Dr. N.Mathialagan, Scientist, Monsanto USA, Academic Performance Endowment. Outstanding personalities and Alumni are honoured for their achievements. Also, a Rolling Trophy sponsored by an Alumnus, Mr. R.Srisiva, Advocate, is circulated every year to the ‘Best Department’ selected on the basis of its good records and achievements. Special lectures on their specific areas of interest are delivered by renowned Alumni members on behalf of the Alumni Association in the College premises., Coimbatore, “The Gold of KONGUNADU” is an evergrowing industrial city. The long felt need for one more college to meet the educational need of this city was fulfilled on 12th August 1973, the day of inauguration of this College. 16th October 1972 is a memorable day in the history of our College. On that day, the Thudiyalur Cooperative Agricultural Services had organised a function to celebrate Saraswathi Pooja. Thiru.V.K.Lakshmanan, MSc.,(Ex-MLA), a progressive agriculturist and public worker noted for his selfless service and devotion to work and Dr.M.Aruchami, MSc.,BT,PhD.,FAZ,FRES (Lond.), the present Secretary, participated in the function. Both gave expression to their long cherished desire to start a college and the impetus for the fulfillment of the desire was readily given by Late T.N.Palanisamy, MA.,IC (Dip.) USA, the then President of the Thudiyalur Cooperative Agricultural Services.Those who made the beginning were fortunate enough to receive the active support from the eminent doctor Late N.S.Palaniappan, M.B.B.S.,DLO, who had a similar idea to start a college on behalf of Anna Memorial Committee in Coimbatore. A sincere band of educated and eminent personalities like Thiru.N.Kumaraswamy, Thiru.K.P.Muthuswamy, MA, Thiru.V.S.Chinnaswami Gounder, Er.R.Somasundaram B.E.,FIE, Late S.R.Rathnaswami Gounder, Late M.Subbiah Gounder and Thiru.C.S.Ramachandran B.A., channelised their energies towards the noble task of education., Student Scholarship Government, The College helps to the students to receive scholarships from the following government bodies as per the Government norms.
