The RVS College of Nursing was started in 1993. The College is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University and is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and by the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council, Chennai.

At the helm of the College, steering its academic and administrative set up was Emeritus Professor and Director of the College Mrs. G.Sigamany. The constant guidance of Mrs.H. Newman, Secretary, and RVS Educational Trust is an added support to the College.

The RVS College of Nursing is committed to provide quality Nursing Education and prepare graduates who will provide quality care to clients of all age groups in sickness & wellness in the hospital and community, with a holistic and humanistic approach and maintain a high standard of professional care at all times to meet the needs of the changing society through continuing education & contribution to professional growth.

The Mission of the RVS College of Nursing is to equip the undergraduate nurses with advanced concepts and skills to function as effective Clinical practitioners to promote, restore and maintain health and wellness of individuals, families and communities in a variety of health care settings. Also to develop competence to function at a leadership level in health care services, education and research.
