R. Muthuswamy Naidu who was a Textile engineer with a B.Tech. degree from Manchester and also the son-in-law of Sri. G.V. Govindaswamy Naidu, the renowned industrialist and philanthropist.When he was managing the Venkatesa Mills in Udumalpet, he was struck by the fact that his employees from rural areas were struggling to give quality technical education to their children. He decided to start this Polytechnic institute with his own funds., RMPC aims to impart quality technical education to students from all walks of life, especially, the rural students, at a very affordable cost. Education should be offered without any constraints. It can be proudly mentioned that providing such an education has been the prime objective of this institution from its start.
