Cherraan's College of Physiotherapy was established in the year 1994, affiliated to The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai and recognized by Indian Association of Physiotherapists, New Delhi. The College offers 4 and a half year Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) and 2-year Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) Courses. At post-graduation (MPT) level, students get a chance to specialize in various fields like Neurology, Orthopedics, Cardio-Respiratory Conditions, Pediatrics, Sports Physiotherapy.

The College is mainly focused on creating competent Physiotherapist with the knowledge and skills matching to the need of present industries. The Institute has its own well-equipped laboratories, library, teaching aids and expert faculty members. The institute also runs its own outpatient Physiotherapy clinic which treats around twenty patients per day.

We provide placement guidance to our students and help them build a career in physiotherapy profession. Our students have been placed in reputed hospitals, clinics, and fitness centers.

Scope of Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a science that helps in prevention and alleviation of movement dysfunction in people. It helps patients regain or maximize physical movement and functions through exercises and/or therapies using agents such as heat, wax, and electricity.

In India, it is estimated that around two crores of the population are physically and neurologically handicapped. The number of qualified Physiotherapists is very low as compared to the handicapped population. This indicates the need of qualified Physiotherapist in the country as well as the wide prospects of the profession. Also, the government is expanding the rehabilitation services in the rural areas which increase the demand of Physiotherapist.
